Planning permission approved for Jewsons site

If you have been following this, you will know that Monarch Water have bought the  Jewsons site and applied for a change of use to ‘light industrial and storage’. This has now been granted. They will be assembling water softeners. We hope this will be low impact for Fair Green, with fewer vehicles coming, and not much noise or light pollution.

There are some conditions attached to the permission, including:

  1. The premises shall not operate other than between the hours of 08:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday and 08:00 and 12:00 Saturday. The premises shall not operate on Sunday or public or bank holidays.
  2. No external lighting shall be erected unless full details of its design, location, orientation and level of illuminance (in Lux) have first been submitted to and agreed in writing with the local planning authority. Such lighting shall be kept to the minimum necessary for the purposes of security and site safety and shall prevent upward and outward light radiation. The lighting shall thereafter be implemented in accordance with the approved details and shall be retained as such thereafter.

Sounds very positive! Let’s hope they will be good neighbours. Andy Rackham has met them and thinks they are nice people.
