Our own Suzanne Kayne, who has been on the FGNA committee for many years, who is our Secretary, and has contributed in many ways (we love her cakes), has been awarded ‘Honoured Citizen of Diss’ by Diss Town Council.
At the Annual Town Meeting on Wednesday 13 May Suzanne Kayne was chosen as Honoured Citizen of Diss. Amongst other voluntary work for the town Suzanne has been an active member of Fair Green Neighbourhood Association for the past nine years. She is involved with Diss Museum as Vice Chair of the Trustees, Shop Manager and Steward and arranges the volunteers’ yearly outing.
In January 2010 Suzanne joined the Corn Hall as a volunteer and is now Volunteer Co-ordinator meeting new potential volunteers, volunteering at events and she can be found in the box office a couple of mornings a week.
Suzanne is also on the Tourism, Leisure Committee of the Town Council and a member of the Xmas Lights committee. In her spare time Suzanne and her husband Steve run their Bed and Breakfast ‘Cobwebs’ on Fair Green and has raised money for Diabetes UK and Cancer Relay for Life.
The photo shows the Mayor, Keith Kiddie (who came to our VE Day commemoration) presenting the award to Suzanne.
